These previous clients returned for my design help with their new home. The goal was to create a design in a neutral palette and find the balance between harmonizing with the elegance of the newly remodeled kitchen and creating a casual living space that is warm and welcoming. Comfortable seating was chosen in a clean lined, modern style. Providing contrast and texture against the neutral palette, geometric pillows and nubby textures of throw blankets and an ottoman make the space cozy. Combining wood, stone and greenery decor gives a modern, yet inviting, organic vibe to this family's home.

For their newly remodeled home, my clients wanted an updated, elevated and relaxing space to gather with family and friends. Incorporating a modern reclining set in a soft cream leather with rich hues of contrasting fabrics and blended textures throughout adds interest and achieves a sense of tranquility and comfort.

An modern design for grace and taste! Keeping their existing china cabinet, the clients asked to incorporate the organic feel of the wood columns while introducing an elegant, modern style for their dining space. The porcelain stone top dining table is both stylish and practical for the family. A geometric rug provides bold contrast, while the abstract art gives subtle colors. The gold avant-garde chandelier reaffirms modern elegance styling while the warm wood table base and chairs continue the organic theme. This modern elegant dining space is the perfect setting for great food and family memories.

This client wanted a contemporary, yet rustic feel for their bedroom design; but with also incorporating a desk space. Mixing textures in the rug, patterned ottoman and chair, and accent pillows create a cozy-contemporary look with rustic elements in the different wood tones of desk, bench and bedroom set to the travertine stone in the accent lamps.

This flex space serves 2 purposes, a light duty office and a sleeper sofa for guests. My inspiration was the owner's bronze horse you see in the foreground. Again, carrying on the color theme, I added some fun contrasting welt cord on the sofa and fun contomporary southwest pillows. The polomino pony rug was homage to the bronze horse.

For a flare of drama, I chose a moody, deep-toned spa color to highlight the niche and give contrast to the textured fireplace wall. To celebrate the vertical height a tall mirror was placed above an elegant chest. Oversize accessories maintain the balance and scale while adding contrast, texture and style. The decor pieces are displayed tallest to shortest to lead your eye around the room to the sassy swivel chairs.

Pattern mix like the pros! Who says you have to repeat the same pillows on each end of the sofa? Instead, focus on mixing up your pillows in colors and patterns that blend well with one another but not matching. Start with a medium-toned linear pattern, like this stripe, add a curve like this black geometric, then add a fuzzy nor nubby textured solid. This mix is more interesting and will give you that ‘designer look’.
